A Pembroke College Oxford University Wedding
18 of the best images from Annabelle & Daniel’s Oxford University Wedding
It’s been a little while since we shared a wedding on the blog, but trust us, this one was well worth the wait.
Today, we’re looking back at Annabelle & Daniel’s Wedding starting at the historic and picture-perfect Chapel at Pembroke College and ending with an intimate countryside celebration at New Cut Mill House in South Oxfordshire.
To get married at one of Oxford colleges’ Chapel, you need to meet two special conditions. Firstly, you or your partner must have studied or be studying at the college. Check, Daniel was completing his PhD at Pembroke at the time.
Second, the Archbishop of Canterbury must give permission for the wedding to take place. Sounds formal (and it is, but it’s all handled by the minister who officiates the ceremony. With a confirmation letter in hand, the couple ticked that box too.
With those unique wedding rules taken care of, Annabelle & Daniel said their vows inside Pembroke College’s Chapel, a space filled with tradition, history, and character. The service was heartfelt and beautifully personal, complete with hymns, readings, and of course, a few emotional “I do’s”.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests made their way to New Cut Mill House, a peaceful private venue tucked away near Abingdon, South Oxfordshire. With views of a stream, elegant gardens, and a relaxed country-house vibe, it was the perfect setting for a summer wedding reception.
Drinks flowed, food was eaten and it was just a great afternoon, even with the rain.
Here are 18 of my favourite images from the day, a mix of classic architecture, real emotion and those quiet, in-between moments that say everything.
Anyway enough from me… Enjoy
